In un'intervista con un fan site, tuttavia, James Marsters avrebbe affermato che dopo un tour estivo con la sua band sarebbe impegnato nelle riprese del sequel.
Il "merito" di questa scelta starebbe nel discreto successo che il film ha ottenuto in Asia, nonostante la critica mondiale l'abbia stroncato, e i "bassi" costi di produzione.
La notizia sembra attendibile, ma fino a quando non si esprimerà la Fox non c'è niente di sicuro.

In a chat with a fan site, James Marsten (Piccolo) has told that after a summer tour with his band he's going to shoot the sequel. We have to thank Asia, where the movie had a discrete success, even if all the world critics have blasted it, and we have to thank the "low" budget.
Seems like the news is trustworthy, but Fox hasn't spoken yet. We'll see.
